“‘How many points would I lose if I farted right now?'”

I thought that was the funniest line on the page which was hard to choose because the page was just full of humor. Anyways thanks for stopping to read my blog. I hope you guys have a good day!

What is your Friday 56? Leave a link down below if you are doing it so I can see.

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

“Harry Potter Moment of the Week was created by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and is hosted here @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote or memory  from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!”

This week’s question is:

Would you rather battle Draco or Lucius?

To answer this question I dont really know.

If you want my honest opinion it would depend on the circumstances. If I was 25 and I had trained at Hogwarts and was very experienced I would try to take on Lucius because then I wasn’t some weakling fighting some ruthless Death Eater. But from where I am right now I would fight Draco because he is kind of experienced but he isn’t flawless when he fights. He isn’t as accurate as his father. He would probably mess up somewhere in the battle. He may still  win the fight but I would have more of a chance of winning.

So I would probably battle Draco.

Who would you want to battle more?

My review:

Well after four weeks I have finally finished this book and what can I say

IT WAS AMAZING!

I knew this book was gonna be good. I guess it didn’t fully come to par with my expectations due to its slow beginning but t came close.

I have been waiting to read this novel for a very long time. I was so excited to read it and I had it on my shelf waiting for so long. I mostly wanted to read this book because if the sequels cover (yes I am shallow) and its own cover. I also wanted to read it because everyone was raving about it. So I ordered this book so I was able to read Wayfarer the second installment when it came out. Obviously, that didn’t work out so well for me because obviously it’s February and I just finished.

This book took me FOREVER to read. I don’t know why it took me so long. I wasn’t even that busy these past four weeks. I think maybe it is a combination of school and the fact that I was reading two books at a time which I said a wouldn’t do but of course I did it anyways. I just never had the time or felt like reading I guess. I hope I can finish my TBR this month. I mean seriously this is the first book I finished in February and it’s almost over.

Okay, so let’s stop talking about how I fail at life and how amazing this book is. I don’t know where to begin so I am just gonna start with the plot. At first, I was really disinterested. I think it caught up with too much action way too early for my liking. I mean I didn’t hate it but I guess we didn’t really get a sense of Etta’s life before her sudden turn about. I would have liked a little more developments but all I got was about her relationship with her mom which I guess fuels a lot of her motivation during the story which was alright but I just wished for a little more of a slide into it rather than a shove off a cliff right into the action. Other than that I loved the story.

The concept of the story was good. I haven’t really read a time travel book before but this one was really good. I thought that some of it was confusing but I guess it doesn’t matter because the story was really good. I was held in suspense in many moments and not in others. I think Bracken could have made a little more sense with the fight scenes and even strung them out. Most of the parts I think she really could have taken sometimes one were choppy and one page or less (like the tiger I expected more(not a spoiler)). That is just my opinion, though. Otherwise, I thought the story was intriguing. With all the hype around it, it came close to expectations.

Now to Bracken. As I said above she could have elaborated more. Lots of things during fight scenes or chase scenes were repetitive. She shortened them a lot with no real suspense. It was like you started getting hyped up and then bam it was over. Lots of scenes were like that and could have been elaborated on more. It wasn’t just action scenes. Cute scenes could have been elaborated on more. Again it is just my opinion. Also, she went quickly through the end. I didn’t really like that. I wished for the last 40 pages to be 70 because it would have given room for some elaboration. I also thought she could have had a little more fun with the book instead of having this whole sense of urgency throughout the novel.

Etta was an okay character. She was kind of mediocre and basic. I thought at times she was to okay with what was going on around her. She didn’t act like she was shocked at all by the sudden change in her life. I don’t really think I liked her as much as other book characters. She just wasn’t written for the part. I do like how she is a strong figure and tries to do the right thing. I can’t get over the fact that she wasn’t freaking out because I know I would be if I ended up in a different time.

Nicolaus also was basic and kind of boring. The story wasn’t good because of the characters let me just say that. I mean they were good characters but they weren’t anything special. Nicolaus was just another guy who fell in love with the main girl. I didn’t really feel like he provided much other than to create a love story.

I know that those were pretty negative reviews of the characters but honestly, they weren’t unique, they weren’t exciting. I like books with exciting and unique characters. Usually, a story gets made by the characters.

I don’t have much else to say about this book. It wasn’t one of the best but it also wasn’t one of the worst. I am hoping the next installment will be a little better. I want to end this post here. I am sorry I haven’t really posted anything this month. I really have been buying and not gonna lie this is the only book I have read so far this month and I only have a week left. So now I am going to have to read right after reading this to attempt to meet my goal for this month. So I hope you enjoy this blog.

February TBR

Hey guys!

I am finally doing my February TBR. I was super bus this weekend and I have no clue why I didn’t do it yesterday because I had a day off of school because of the foot of snow we received. I am now a week into February and have not finished a book or wrote this post but I guess better late than never. So let’s start.

tbr

This month I plan on reading 4 books. Last month i read five but two of the books I planned on reading I didn’t finish so I will read those two and hopefully finish them. Here is my TBR for February:

18006496

20983362

These two books I started last month and it has taken me forever to finish them and I am still not done with them I don’t know why I have read like a little every day. I guess I need to just sit down and read.

18692431

27779008

These two books I am reading in celebration of Valentine’s Day. I know these stories are cutsie romance type books so I am reading them for love day.

2623

Great Expectations is for school and I don’t really know if I like it yet and it is super long so I don’t know if I will be able to finish it by the end of the month or what our reading schedule is so this is just an extra book just to incase.

So those are all the books I am reading. I am glad I have finally got this post done. I have been worried about finishing it. After I post this I am going to try and read Passenger to try and make a dent before school starts today. Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading!

January 2017 Wrap-Up

Hey guys guess what!

Its time for another monthly wrap-up.

I am so happy with this month except for how fast it flew by. I got all my finals done whihc delayed my reading so i didn’t read everything I wanted to read but I did however meet other goals. One of my goals was to make the photo you’ll see throughout this post and on my featured image. I have been meaning to make this to give a little flare to my blog.

books-i-read

Rhis month was a busy month for me and so will February but I have a better outlook going into the next monththan I did going into this month. I only set a goal to read three books this month, those books being Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, and Passenger. while I only read two of those books on that list I did read 5 books this month. I am very happy and impressed with myself. The books I read were:

28686840

92517

20613470

18584855

23513349

Most of these books were amazing. I loved almost all of them. go check out my reviews which are linked above to see my opinions on each book.

posts-this-month

This month I posted a little but that is usually how I roll so here are my posts from this month:

and the glorious post you are on right now.

Go check out those blog posts and give them some love. I work really hard on them.

books-i-bought

Now I put this one last because I bought ALOT of books this month. I had lots of Christmas money so I decided I would buy books with all of that money. so here is the long list of book  bought:

511iszrvycl-_sx326_bo1204203200_

27779008

16096824

18243700

16068905

15745753

27774758

20983366

26836910

23395680

29236299

24921954

23299512

As you can see that is alot of books to buy in one month. I was so excited and still am to have gotten all those books. The wait for all of them was excruciating though. I think I may have an addiction to buying books. But they make my book shelf look even more pretty.

That is all for this months wrap-up. I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have. I will have my TBR up by tomorrow (hopefully) so you can see what books I plan to read in February. Thanks for reading. Please like and comment below!!!!

What books did you read? Did you read any boooks that I read? What books did you buy?

Review:

After about two months of searching and trying to find the cheapest price, I finally got this book. Right, when I opened the package I had hardly taken a picture to put on my Instagram story before I dove in. I know you are supposed to read a poem book slowly, or maybe you’re not but I feel like that is the right way to read one, but I devoured that in two days. I absolutely loved it and after I try and finish the two books I am reading I think I am going to start just slowly indulging myself by reading one or two every once in awhile.

I am really excited to do this review because there isn’t any possible way to spoil it so I can talk about all parts beginning through the end. So to start this blog of I would just like to say that Rupi Kaur is amazing. She has made poems about so much uncomfortable (or at least other people think they are uncomfortable) problems. I thought how she wrote her poems was so full of emotion (duh) and spoke to me on so many levels. Even the ones with less than ten words were masterpieces. I don’t know who she is or how her life has been lived but through her poems, I feel as though we have sat down and had this long personal chat about her life and know all her deepest emotions.

I have never read a book of poems before but I think after this book I have a whole new world opened up to me. Ever since I heard about this book and saw its beautiful cover I knew I wanted it and I knew I had to have it. I also read some of it in Target once in December and instantly fell in love and was on the hunt for a cheaper one ever since. the poems were deep and even though lots were short they spoke very deeply about men and women and relationships and love. It was split into four sections: the hurting, the loving, the breaking, and the healing. I want to review each section with you guys.

The Hurting:

So this little I guess chapter is about I am thinking her teen years and having abusive/absent fathers, submissive mother, rape, and other things. I thought it was very deep but mostly just random, unlike the other sections which were exactly what I was expecting so I don’t care that much but I did like how everything in the other three sections of the book was very storylike and a progression. I did however like these very much. My favorite poem in this section was:

“You pinned my legs to the ground with your feet and demanded I stand up.”

and since I can’t just choose the one here is another one:

“You have sadness living in places sadness shouldn’t live”

The Loving:

this was my second favorite sections. I really loved how it went from happy to dark and disastrous really quickly. I thought how it basically came off as a story was really beautiful. she had some really deep poems in here, some more graphic ones, and some emotional ones. My favorite was:

“no it won’t be love at first sight when we meet it’ll be love at first remembrance cause i’ve seen you in my mother’s eyes when she tells me to marry the type of man i’d want to raise my son to be like”

Honorable mentions:

“my favorite thing about you is your smell you smell like earth herbs gardens a little more human thanthe rest of us”

“i know i should crumble for better reasons but have you seen that boy he brings the sun to its knees every night”

“you might not have been my first love but you were the love that made all the other loves irrelevant”

*just wanted to add that I am only including shorter poems but there are longer ones that are my favorite I just don’t want to type that much

The Breaking:

This was very heartbreaking. I feel like that was pun because this section is of heartbreak. I don’t really know. All I know is that I was left feeling sad and depressed after reading this because it was about heartbreak and heartbreak is tough. I felt like she did a great job conveying her feelings in the story. One of my favorites was:

“you musn’t have to make them want you they must want you themselves”

The Healing:

This was my absolute favorite section. I loved everything about it. I thought there were good mottos to live by. I saw a lot of strength through this story. I thought the author did well to show us her growth and how even though it hurts it will not hurt forever and when it stops hurting you can turn your life around to being the most epic person you really are. one of my favorites were:

“accept yourself as you were designed”

“the thing about writing is I can’t tell if it’s healing or destroying me”

To wrap up this blog post, I want to leave saying that everyone should read this. I mean it is pretty easy if someone doesnt like to read long novels becuase it is a poem book. I believe it was very inspirational and touching and emotional. I loved it so much. The hype about this book was true. It was a stunning read. Hope you enjoyed this blog.
