Places in Books I Want to Live in: TTT

Places in books you want to live

Ah, I am so excited about this one. I think about this a lot.

Clearly some of my answers are going to be very obvious but I will try to surprise you as best as I can.

Hogwarts

Reason: Ummm do I even need to explain

2. Terrasen

This is such a beautifully described place. And I love the smell of pine so I think the Pine forest would suit me well.

3. Torre Cesme

I mean just for the library alone. And to meet the Baast Cats. I would love it there.

3. New York

I mean this is from a lot of books that I love, most recently, Dash and Lilly and What If It’s Us. It has also been my dream to move to New York. So, any excuse to talk about New York, I am game.

4. Doon

I have loved Doon ever since I read the books. I think it sounds so beautiful and I also really want to go to Scotland.

5. Wonderland

More specifically, the Wonderland that Marissa Meyers creates in Heartless. And probably before the Catherine becomes evil.

6. The Maze

I love the Maze Runner. I do not think being in the Maze and living in the Maze would be great. But, the men there. Oh my goodness. I would do it just for that.

7. Watford School of Magicks

Not as great as Hogwarts, but I loved Carry On and would love to see this other magic school.

And with that, I end my list. I could not think of ten places. I really like these places.

Top Ten Tuesday: A Cleaning One

This week’s theme is:

Spring Cleaning Freebie

Now, I don’t usually get rid of books. I want my shelves to look super full when I am older. I plan to own a library. But, to do that I need to keep the books I have. I do have a bag in the bottom of my parents’ house full of old books that I do not want anymore. I am at my own house though so I couldn’t take a look.

I decided to put my spin on this and do the books I will take back to my parents’ house when I visit again. If you don’t know, my TBR books are the only books I have at my apartment so I do not re-read books and I actually read them. Every time I visit my parents’ home, I take all the books I read home with me. I only have a few so this won’t be a full ten.

The Books:

Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares

Into the Wild by John Krakauer

The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

These are the books I have read. I am hoping to add one more to this list since I will not be returning home for another week. But, who knows, it is finals week soooo…

Anyways, I love doing these tags. They are so easy and fun. I think I post about the same books every week but, that’s okay. I promise eventually I talk about different books for months in a row.

I also like the idea of spring cleaning my bookshelves. I won’t, because I love all my books, but it is a great idea. Also, it is still raining and very cold so it does not feel like true spring at the moment.

It’s Tuesday…guess what that means

If you guessed another Top Ten Tuesday, you would be correct.

This week’s theme is:

Character’s jobs you would want (for whatever reason like its cool of the boss is hot)

I had to dig deep for this one because I don’t have any of my already read books with me in my apartment.

Charlie Weasley- I mean who wouldn’t want to be a dragon tamer. How fucking fun does that sound to be around dragons all day.
Cormoran Strike- Being a detective sounds so cool (except for the almost dying every book part). Also, I would love to meet Robin. She is a girl boss.
Severus Snape/Professor Slughorn- I would LOVE to be the potions teacher. I think I would excel at potions.
Minerva McGonagall-As headmaster and transfiguration professor, I would love either position she held. Really anything in Hogwarts!
Newt Scamander- I can’t remember if this is technically really a job, but caring for magical creatures sounds amazing.
Celeana Sardothien- As an assassin, I think I would thrive. I am not a fan of killing people (not that I have done it), but I would love to be as badass as Celeana.

I couldn’t think of any more jobs I would love to be in. These are the ones that immediately came to my mind. They all seem so badass. I think they sound so exciting and thrilling.

But, I will definitely be staying on my career path. I am not a risk taker and all of these sound risky.

A Mardi Gras Themed Top Ten Tuesday!

It is Tuesday my dudes.

And it seems like a pretty fun theme this week. We are choosing ten books with green, yellow, and purple covers in honor of Mardi Gras today!

I shall be picking form books on my TBR and from my read shelf on Goodreads. I did not put a lot of effort into this post. I am currently procrastinating homework when I write this so I am sorry.

Ten Books About Love on my TBR

It is Tuesday.

That means it is time for another Top Ten Tuesday!

So, it said Valentine’s freebie so I am taking to chance to talk about the books on my shelf that have romance or are romance novels.

First up is Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer. While it may not be 100% a romance book, it is a book about love. It also has red on the cover so it fits with the theme.

Second is Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Leviathan. This is what I am going to be reading this week. I think that it is going to be a really cute book it read. I am very excited.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is the third book. Yes I haven’t read it yet, what about it?

To go along with above fourth and fifth are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.

Sixth is The Princess Bride by William Goldman. This is sort of an important book for my family so I feel like it is very important to read this. I promise Grandmama and Grumpy that I will read it.

The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead is coming in at a hot seventh. The list is hard to make because I am just grabbing what I can off my TBR shelf. I am not sure if I am even getting romance books since I dont know what all of them are for.

Ride the Winter Wind by Christina Kingston is the eight book. I have never even heard of this book before but I got it in this bundle of used book from Half Price Books.

Ninth is Fated by Alyson Noel. This was hard to find cause it looks like fantasy but then they synopsis mentions a boy so I am going to count this because my pickings are becoming slim.

And to end the list, I have to include Maas in here somehow so the entire ACOTAR series from A Court of Thornes and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruins, and A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas. (If anyone can tell me which order do I read ACOFAS in the series that would be great). Once I finish the ToG series, I will be beginning this series next.

Anyways, I hope you guys all have a great week and fill it with love. Take extra time out of your day to show someone that you really care about them and they are special. Who knows who need to hear it.

Top Ten Tuesday: Resolutions

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. –That Artsy Reader Girl

Basically every Tuesday, their is a topic to write about, usually to list ten things under a certain topic.

This Tuesday, January 12th, it is about resolutions.

These are my resolutions:

I want to read 15 books this year. This may not sound like a lot but I have been slacking on my reading these past few years so I need to read more.
I want to blog at least once a week. I am paying for this blog every year, might as well keep up with it. Also, blogging is something that I really like doing. I am beginning to balance my time more so I should be able to.
Finish my Netflix to watch list. I have SOOOOO many shows that I have not watched yet that I have always wanted to get to. I have a list I am going to write. Maybe keep track of the shows on here. I think to hold me accountable I will also me reviewing shows. Just like I did with Queen’s Gambit and Bridgerton recently.
I want to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I do not have a tracker, this is more of just an integrity thing in my mind. SO far I am doing pretty well. I have been keeping to it quite nicely.
I want to achieve a 4.0 every quarter. I have accomplished that so far in every course I have taken. I would like to continue that trend. If this does not happen though, I will not be sad or mad. College is hard.
I wish to journal more. 2019 was a great year for me journaling. 2020 was not so. 2021 is already proving to be a bad year for my journaling but I haven’t been able to buy my journal yet cause they haven’t restocked my local Fred Meyer with the journal I use. I am a stickler for habit, so no I cannot just go out and buy any old journal.
I also have a goal to either read or write every day. It would be better if I did both but we are working up to that.
going along with the last one, I want to finish my secret project by the end of the year. Just a nice rough draft of the first part. I am sure we can all guess what it is but I would like to try to seem mysterious.
I want to finish my homework before the day it is due. *Laughs to self because I definitely did my homework that was due today a minute ago*
I want to make active progress towards reaching my long term and short term goals. I want to ultimately end this year feeling as though I did everything I could to reach where I want to be in 5 years.
Bonus: I am trying to go meatless this entire year. I am allowing 2 f*ck ups a month because I live in a college town where everything is meat with a side of meat. It is want pizza rolls in the middle of the night after partying with my roommates, then I am going to do it.

I hope you guys all liked this list. As I said earlier, I haven’t been able to start journaling yet this year so I haven’t wrote down my resolutions thus far. I want to thank That Artsy Reader Girl (her website is linked above) for letting me be able to write down my resolutions for this Tuesday.

The link should show what books I want. I have read half these books and I have wanted to read the rest of these books. I want all the John Green books because I love them all. I want to have them for my re-reading. I want the Mortal Instruments series because I read the first book and never got around to reading the others because of other books and if I had them on my shelf I think I would get them done. The Outlander series is my favorite book tuber’s, Sasha Alsberg, favorite book series and I like a lot of books she likes so I want to read it. Also I want to get Zenith when it come out because Sasha Alsberg duh… I want EoS and ACOMAF because Sarah J Maas and I love the Throne of Glass series so far and I will get around to reading ACOTAR soon. I love the Maze Runner series because it was literally one of my favorite series in the world. Rainbow Rowell is my queen. I just recently bought Eleanor and Park and Fangirl. They improve my bookshelf so much. I love the sweet and simple covers. I wanted Caraval because everyone seems to love it. I also wanted the Lunar chronicles because I fell in love with Marissa Meyers after reading the book Heartless by her.
